Your main goal will be creating a supportive learning environment to help your students meet their learning goals. You’ll oversee their progress through engaging and diverse methods by tracking their assignment and exam grades to provide helpful feedback.

Responsibilities:

As an English and Humanities teacher at Glybridge Schools, you will be required to:

• Organize classroom lectures and coursework

• Teach basic English skills, including reading, writing, and speaking

• Research new language teaching method

• Emphasize the rules of composition, grammar and sentence construction

• Teach students the correct pronunciation of words

• Guide students to think critically when studying literature and poetry

• Help students improve in the spelling of words and their meanings

• Engage students to ensure a lively classroom atmosphere

• Collaborate with teaching staff and administrators to foster a good student experience

• Identify students with special requirements and create individualized plans

• Assign homework and engaging exercises

• Provide feedback based on workload and classroom behaviour.

• Teaching some Humanities-related subjects as highlighted in the Humanities subjects section across all classes.

Requirements:

• Previous experience as an English teacher

• Relevant teaching certification may be required.

• High proficiency in English

• Knowledge of various teaching methods

• Deep understanding of the Nigerian and British curricula for the upper primary.

• Exceptional organizational, listening and communication skills

• Dedication to students and education

• Proficient computer skills

• Minimum degree: BA/ B Ed. in English language

• Strong multitasking abilities.

• Excellent leadership skills.
