  • Colours: adjectives help us identify the colour of things. Think about ‘red’ in ‘the red apple’ or ‘green’ in ‘the green tree.”
  • Pointing words: these words, called demonstrative adjectives, point to or show the specific things we discuss. Examples include “this,” “that,” and “all.” They are used in the phrase: this toy, all the books, and that cat.
  • Number words: the sentence “five cookies” use numeral adjectives to tell us about the number of something (five) in a specific way (delicious). It describes both the quantity of the cookies.
